Cosmetex 2014

The Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery (ACCS) invites you to the Cosmetex Annual Conference, the 5th conference under the Cosmetex brand to be held from Thursday 1 May – Saturday 3 May at the Royal Pines Resort, Queensland.

Welcome from the ACCS President 2014

On behalf of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery (ACCS), welcome to Cosmetex 2014 – the Asia-Pacific’s largest and most significant meeting devoted to Cosmetic Medical Practice.

Cosmetex provides College fellows, delegates and sponsors a distinctive occasion each year to renew friendships, see and learn new things and work together to promote Cosmetic Medical Practice.

It’s also a matchless opportunity for the cosmetic industry to showcase the latest innovations for cosmetic medicine and surgery, and for experienced and talented practitioners to show the rest of us what results they have achieved with those innovations.

We continue to find the right balance between Cosmetic Surgery and Cosmetic Medicine in the topics we choose to present each year. We are very proud to be able to bring together from overseas a significant number of very accomplished practitioners.

Enjoy your stay in the Gold Coast and join us in as many of the activities as you can.

Dr Soo-Keat Lim | President

CPD Points

Instructions on how to Obtain CPD Points

Delegates wishing to obtain CPD points can self-claim, through The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, by self-recording based on the following guidelines.

What is self-recording?

A GP can register a total of 20 Category Two points (Capped at 20 points for the triennium).

The QI&CPD program recognises the benefits for GPs participating in events, which may not be formally accredited by the QI&CPD Program, for CPD point allocation that they find personally valuable for their individual learning needs.

After logging in to the RACGP website, use the 'self record your activities' option that is available in the main side menu. This online notification should be updated as unaccredited activities are completed. Once a total of 10 hours of unaccredited activities has been entered, an option to submit the self-recorded notification to the QI&CPD Program will become available. Submitting the notification to the QI&CPD Program is capped at 20 Category Two points towards your total triennium requirement.

Delegates also have the option to complete an Individual Active Learning Module (ALM) (40 Category One points), if you consider this activity meets the criteria, of a pre-disposing activity followed by a minimum 6 hours of interactive education and a reflective activity.

PLEASE NOTE: CPD points can only be claimed based on attendance at the scientific program sessions. Sponsored workshops do not attract CPD points.

For more information on the RACGP QI&CPD program please visit their website: http://qicpd.racgp.org.au

AMC TV’s Mad Men

Step back in time to the decade that spawned the hit television series Mad Men and society waved goodbye to the old secure framework of morality, authority and discipline, and said hello to flamboyance, freedom, ambition and reinvention.

Slip on your fedora or double strand of pearls, sip a martini (or three) and revel in the glamour, sophistication and excess that were the signature of New York in the early 60s.
